In Forza Horizon 4, if you owned a car that you didn’t really use, you had no choice but to keep it. You couldn’t sell it by any method to make yourself extra credits (the in-game currency), so it would just gather dust in your virtual garage, eager to be driven. Fortunately, things have changed a bit and players can now sell cars in Forza Horizon 5. Here’s everything you need to know.

Selling cars is back in the form of the Auction House, an online marketplace that allows players to bid on other people’s vehicles or just buy them at the “Buy Now” price if you didn’t want to. engage in a bidding war. It’s not a new feature in the series, but it was absent from Forza Horizon 4, so many players will be happy to hear its return for the Horizon Mexico festival.

To sell cars, you need to head to one of the festival sites you set up across Mexico, or to one of your homes you bought, like Casa Bella. Now go to the “Auction House” option on the “Buy & Sell” option, then choose “Start Auction”.

From there, simply select the vehicle you wish to sell and choose the reserve price from which other players will start bidding, as well as the “Buy Now” price at which you would be happy to have the car immediately purchased without bidding.

Choose the duration of the auction then list it. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for time to pass and seeing if anyone makes an offer.

The only downside to the auction is that unless you have a particularly impressive or rare car, it may not attract much attention, making it difficult to sell. Even so, it’s better than having no ability to sell cars at all in Forza Horizon 5.

Buy used cars

If you are looking to buy another player’s car, simply choose the “Search Auctions” option on the “Auction House” screen. Select the make and model of the vehicle you are looking for and choose any other criteria you may have, then search.

When you’ve found a car you want to bid or buy on, simply place the bid or choose the “Buy Now” option if you have the credits to do so.
