Arc System Works has announced that it will hold a special presentation to celebrate the “almost” first anniversary of its magnificent combat suite. Guilty Equipment Effort. The amusing title Guilty Gear Strive Almost One Year Anniversary Release set to take place later this month on May 25.

Although details are pretty slim, fans can look forward to a look back at GG striveThe scene’s first year, with exhibition matches, interviews and plenty of juicy footage. The main reason GG players will be watching, however, concerns the second season of the doomsday fighter, which will bring additional characters, stages, balance tweaks, cross-play support, and more. When I wouldn’t expect everything of this content to be unveiled on May 25, I’d be surprised if we didn’t get at least one index of a new character.

Guilty Equipment Effort has done a great job of making a name for itself since its initial launch last summer. Easily the most popular (if perhaps not the most beloved) iteration in recent memory, GG strive won over a host of new players with its slightly stripped-down gameplay, lush visuals, and savage roster of engaging and colorful warriors.

While many grumbles can be found on social media regarding StriveArcSys’ scrapper is currently the most popular title lined up for the EVO 2022 tournament – currently pushing 1,500 player registrations and beating tournament stalwarts such as Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V

The Guilty Gear Strive’s Almost One Year Stream can be viewed on the Arc System Works Japan YouTube channel. The action will begin on May 25 at 8:00 p.m. JST / 4:00 a.m. PT / 7:00 a.m. It’s pretty early, but don’t worry, because we’ll be sure to bring you all the hot gossip here on Destructoid.
